The Uruguayan striker was suspended for one game this Wednesday (5) by the Major League Soccer (MLS) Disciplinary Committee for violent conduct. As a result, the player will be absent from the in the decisive match against Nashville SC, valid for the first round of the American League playoffs. The punishment refers to a move that occurred in the 36th minute of the second half of the second game of the series, when Suárez kicked defender Andy Nájar in an attack play. The Uruguayan did not receive a card during the match, won by Nashville 2-1.

With a victory for each team, the classification will be decided in a third clash, scheduled for next Saturday, in Florida. This is not the attacker’s first recent punishment. In September, Suárez had already been suspended for three games for spitting at an opponent during the Leagues Cup final against the Seattle Sounders.
