received this Wednesday (5), at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, the president of the Republic of , Edgars Rinkēvičs, to discuss topics such as innovation, technology, artificial intelligence and sustainability. During the meeting, the governor highlighted São Paulo’s interest in deepening international partnerships aimed at technological transformation and applied research, with a focus on creating more efficient digital and energy solutions.

“São Paulo is a state that has invested in innovation as a driver of development. Latvia has an exemplary trajectory in technology and artificial intelligence, and there is a lot of room for knowledge exchange and cooperation”, stated Tarcísio.

The governor presented advances in the state in almost three years of management, including the investment partnership program and the expansion in the digitalization of public services and the use of artificial intelligence in areas such as health and security.

One of the points covered was the energy transition and São Paulo’s role in the development of renewable sources, such as solar energy, biomethane and biogas, as well as projects aimed at bioeconomy and urban sustainability. President Edgars Rinkēvičs highlighted Latvia’s interest in strengthening dialogue with São Paulo and Brazil, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence, startups, clean energy and technological education.

The two also expressed their intention to create a memorandum of understanding between São Paulo and Latvia, which could include this cooperation. “This dialogue is an important first step towards bringing our countries closer together and building partnerships that boost technological and sustainable development”, concluded the governor.
