The lawyer, special advisor to the governor (Republicanos-SP), is the favorite to fill the position of substitute for (PP-SP), Secretary of Public Security for, if he runs for the Senate in 2026.
The choice is related to the good relationship that Santini has with the governor, with Derrite and also with the Bolsonaro family.
In the government of São Paulo, Santini serves as head of the office in Brasília. In practice, he works as the governor’s liaison with Congress, the Judiciary and the Planalto in relation to topics of interest to state management.
Recently, for example, he was the organizer of Tarcísio’s meeting with Minister Gilmar Mendes, of the Federal Supreme Court.
The good traffic in the federal capital was also taken into account in the assessment that it would be a good name to accompany Derrite next year. Currently, he is not affiliated with any party.
Santini was executive secretary of the Civil House, advisor to the Ministry of the Environment and national secretary of Justice of the government (PL). He is the brother of former councilor of Campinas (SP) Nelson Santini, better known as , who became famous as a businessman in the area of public security.
The definition of Santini’s fate depends on Governor Tarcísio’s decision regarding his own future. If he chooses to run for re-election, as he has repeatedly stated, Derrite will seek a seat in the Senate. If he bets on a candidacy for the Presidency, the Secretary of Security will try to put himself forward as a candidate for governor of São Paulo.
