On Friday, members of the Hungarian anti-terrorist unit TEK had to evacuate the kindergarten in XV. Budapest district 58 children and 13 adults after a man armed with a knife entered the yard of the facility. TEK operational unit arrested the perpetrator on the spot. No one from the nursery was threatened and no one was injuredit is stated in the statement of the Budapest Police Directorate (BRFK), informs the correspondent of TASR in Budapest.
After receiving a report of an armed man, the police informed TEK. Around 12:30 p.m., the man was identified and TEK units together with the police immediately took measures to evacuate 58 children and 13 adults from the kindergartenwho were escorted to a nearby church. Budapest police cordoned off the area during the evacuation.
The TEK negotiator contacted the man and communicated with him until he began to cooperate. He then gave up and put down the knife. The operatives handcuffed the 41-year-old man and handed him over to the police, who started a criminal investigation.
