Odiana – Associação para o Desenvolvimento do Baixo Guadiana promoted, between the 3rd and 5th of November, T-Days 2025, a cross-border meeting that brought together students, teachers and entities from Portugal and Spain around the themes of mobility and youth employability in the tourism and hotel sectors.

Integrated into the EURES Cross-Border Andalusia-Algarve (EURES-T AA) project, co-financed by the European Commission and led by the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE) and the Institute of Employment and Professional Training (IEFP), the event aimed to “promote professional mobility and employment between the Algarve and Andalusia regions, reinforcing cooperation ties between the two countries”, highlighted the organization.
The meeting began at the Hotel and Tourism School of Vila Real de Santo António, with a welcome session attended by Catarina Cavaco, executive director of Odiana, Álvaro Araújo, president of the VRSA City Council, Luís Romão, director of the host school, and Natália Torégão, representative of EURES Crossborder Andalusia-Algarve and IEFP.
For three days, the event promoted training activities, technical visits and practical experiences, bringing young people closer to the job market and the real professional context.
One of the highlights of the program was the Iberian gastronomic exchange, which brought together Portuguese and Spanish students “side by side in the kitchen, promoting the exchange of knowledge, techniques and culinary traditions”, highlighting, according to Odiana, “the cultural and gastronomic richness shared between the two banks of the Guadiana”.

The program also included visits to hotel and tourist units in Vila Real de Santo António and an interpretative visit to the Castro Marim and VRSA Sapal Natural Reserve, providing a broader perspective on the territory’s potential as a training and employability destination.
For , this initiative “reinforces the commitment to valuing Baixo Guadiana as a territory of opportunities, promoting youth employability and direct contact with the local business sector”.
The EURES-T Andalucía-Algarve project is coordinated by Servicio Andaluz de Empleo (SAE), in collaboration with IEFP, IP, with several institutional and business partners on both sides of the border.
