Carla Dias celebrated her last chemotherapy session in a way that moved millions of people. During the trip to the hospital, in Atibaia, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, the car where she was traveling with her husband was decorated with pink balloons and phrases such as “last chemo”, “I won” and “honk”. The moment turned into a wave of collective joy, with several unknown drivers reacting with applause and honking along the route.
The video, recorded by Carla herself and shared on social media, covered the Presidente Dutra highway, Marginal Tietê and Avenida 23 de Maio, in São Paulo.
In the publication, Carla described the day as “one of the most exciting” of her life. She remembered the sun, the blue sky and the affectionate gestures of people who had never seen her. “There were gestures, hugs and looks that reminded me how much love heals. Each demonstration of affection made me believe even more: human beings have salvation. We won! And we remain firm, with a lot of faith and gratitude. I am already healed!”, she wrote.
