Sport’s top scorer in Serie A, with six goals in 17 games, the striker Derik Lacerda was removed from the squad for disciplinary reasons. The club announced the decision on Thursday night (06/11), after the 26-year-old player refused to participate in part of the training held at CT.
According to the official statement, the episode was the most recent in a sequence of acts of indiscipline committed by the athlete. Sport also reported that Derik, his agent and Cuiabá – owner of the player’s economic rights – have already been notified that he will no longer be used in the remaining rounds of the Brasileirão.
According to an investigation by the website “ge.com”, this Thursday’s case was just the trigger. After the defeat to Juventude, Derik had refused to follow the post-game recovery protocol, which worsened the tension with the board. President Yuri Romão and the football department then decided to definitively leave.
The striker will continue training separately until the end of his contract, which ends at the same time as the championship.
Hired on loan in July, in an exchange that involved Carlos Alberto going to Cuiabá, Derik shared Sport’s top scorer in the competition with Pablo.
Derik Lacerda: market value
Derik Lacerda has a contract with Cuiabá until December 2028 and, in principle, returns to Cuiabá at the beginning of 2026. For interested clubs, the website “Transfermarkt”, a specialist in football market figures, evaluates the striker at 1 million euros (R$ 6.1 million).
Cuiabá is currently in Series B, occupying 11th place.
