They chose November 7th to begin the launch of the audiovisual “Velhos Hábitos”. The project, which innovates with country references, was recorded at the end of September and has 10 tracks. Composed by the duo themselves in partnership with Quexin and Vítor Reis, the same team responsible for the “Gosta de Rua” phenomenon, “Dois Gumes” is the perfect start to present the artists’ new work.
With lyrics that have as their central point the immaturity that is often the consequence of a breakup, “Dois Gumes” shows that not all freedom comes without cost. And the song is already a hit even before its release. Since the release of its guide on YouTube and Instagram, the public has shown a lot of enthusiasm for the song. On TikTok alone, there are already more than 5 thousand creations using original audio.

“Finally we can start with the releases of this project. Honestly, we were very excited. If it were up to me and Rodrigo, the song would have come out the day after recording. We noticed the affection of the public already with the ‘Dois Gumes’ tab, which has almost half a million views on the platforms, and this gives us more security and the certainty that all the work to select and compose this and the other songs was really worth it. We are very happy with this new phase. We really hope that you like it!”, comments Felipe.
Rodrigo talks about his big bet on the track: “Felipe and I have very high expectations with ‘Velhos Hábitos’, and ‘Dois Gumes’ is one of the tracks that we like to perform the most, and from what we saw on social media, people have also really liked it”.
After recording in São Paulo, Felipe and Rodrigo continued the international proposal for “Velhos Hábitos” and embarked on October 21st and 22nd for Nashville (USA), the birthplace of country music, where they recorded the second part of the audiovisual project at the East Iris studio alongside musicians who work with names that have become references in the style, such as Luke Combs and Post Malone.
The trip was immortalized in an emotional documentary, directed by Fernando Hiro (who worked on Rede Globo projects, such as the successful Bem Sertanejo). With a sensitive look, the director showed the behind-the-scenes, challenges and achievements of the duo. André Piunti, a reference journalist in covering country music, also followed the entire experience closely, recording with a technical and sensitive eye the impact of this moment on the history of the genre. The entire journey through Nashville was produced by Richard Martin.
With strong references in country, “Velhos Hábitos” is already a milestone in the career of Felipe & Rodrigo and the expectation is to continue the sequence of successes. “We believe that this project represents a big step in our career. We are taking risks in new sounds, bringing increasingly mature lyrics and expanding our experiences in music.”
With each new audiovisual, more hits enter the friends’ discography and the duo’s reach becomes greater. After “No Sentimento” (2022), “Questão de Tempo” (2023) and “Minha Cara” (2024), the new project, which has video direction by Catatau, promises to conquer Brazil and the world.
