From natural deaths to homicide: the twist in the case of a couple who died in Minas Gerais

The deaths of Everaldo Gregório de Souza and Thomas Stephen Lydon were initially treated as natural, but tests revealed that the couple had been poisoned. The Civil Police of Minas Gerais detained the sister of one of the victims and a close friend, both suspected of having planned the crime.

The Civil Police of Minas Gerais, in Brazil, is investigating the deaths of Everaldo Gregório de Souza, 60, and Thomas Stephen Lydon, 65, who lived together for more than three decades. The couple was found dead in June this year, in Governador Valadares, in Vale do Rio Doce.
