In a technical note, the Federal Secretariat suggested a veto on the increase in personnel, and as foreseen in the project that opens additional credit of R$ 2.15 billion to ministries of the Lula government.
The project was sent for sanction last Monday (3). The supplementary credit aims to meet the actions of the Presidency and ministries such as Justice, Culture, Sports and Regional Integration.
The program foresees R$886.3 million to finance projects in the productive sector within the scope of the Amazon Development Fund. It also includes R$2.28 million for the International Anti-Doping Agency and R$375 thousand for Codevasf.
One of the approved annexes deals with authorizations related to personnel expenses and social charges for 2025. Within the Constitutional Fund of the Federal District, R$ 297.15 million were allocated to hire a total of 2,073 people for the security area, 1,284 of which for the Military Police, 700 for the Civil Police and 89 for the firefighters (89) of the Federal District.
In a technical note, the substitute Federal Budget Secretary, Gláucio Rafael da Rocha Charão, states that the provisions of the points included by Congress “configure matters foreign to the main object of the supplementary credit project”.
“Thus, within the scope of the powers of this Federal Budget Secretariat, a partial veto is recommended, contrary to the public interest”, writes the substitute Federal Budget Secretary.
