De Moraes was the first of the judges of the First Chamber of the Supreme Court to speak out on the appeals presented by Bolsonaro’s defense and now the other four members of that panel need to speak out, who – as well as the rapporteur – will do so virtually, in the court’s computer system.
“There was no omission” in the ruling, which “declares the judicial circumstances unfavorable” for Bolsonaro, so the defensive argument is considered “unviable,” said Judge De Moraes in the vote he published this Friday.
The decision extends to seven other convictsamong whom there are former ministers and former military leaders who, according to the court, participated in the coup plot.
