“COP30 will be the COP of truth. It is the time to take the warnings of science seriously. It is time to face reality and decide whether or not we will have the courage and determination necessary to transform it”, said Lula during the opening of the Climate Summit.

After opening the plenary, the president received world leaders at an official lunch to launch the Tropical Forests Forever Fund (TFFF). In a press conference, with the participation of Finance Ministers, ; of Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva; and Indigenous Peoples, Sônia Guajajara, it was announced that the fund already has US$5.5 billion.
