In Saturday’s episode of the show In the seventh heaven on TV JOJ another trio of powerful stories await the audience. One of them is about sisters Miriam and Sárka, whose mother died of cancer seven years ago. Sárka was only 7, Miriamka 12. They are not in contact with their father.
They grew up with mom and grandparents, lots of animals in the yard. Their mother loved horses, her daughters also rode with her. The older Miriam adores horses, for a while she even had her own. Over time, however, she gave him up and moved him to the farm, because she would not have time for him due to her studies. Both sisters are students, Sára is in the ninth year of elementary school.
Miriam is an excellent student, she was accepted for veterinary medicine in Košice, she started her bachelor’s studies. Sára realizes more and more that she doesn’t remember her mother very well. When her mother was already unwell and lying at home, Sárka was seven years old and did not perceive the seriousness of the situation. She remembers that she really wanted to go out with her friends and her mother told her to stay with her, but she went out anyway. And a few days later, mom died.
The girls live with grandfather Rudko (81), who does not allow his granddaughters to be around. He used to be a long-distance bus driver, his wife died of covid a few years ago, and since then he also got sicker. He is a diabetic, so the girls take care of him with love. They measure his sugar, inject him with insulin in the morning and in the evening, and always prepare medicines for the whole week in his vial.
Feeling the lack of finances in the family, Miriam watches the special offers in the store, buys, for example, the cheapest bread. She also knows how to cook, although godmother Klaudia often helps them. The family’s financial situation is tense, they live on grandfather’s pension, orphan’s allowance and child benefits. Miriam’s godmother Klaudia is the closest person to the girls – she goes to the doctors with them, helps in the house and looks after their grandfather.
