Germán Cano is one of Fluminense’s absences for the duel with Mirassol, this Thursday (6/11), in a game valid for the 32nd round of the Brasileirão. Flu occupies seventh place in the Brazilian Championship with 47 points won and is fighting for a place in the next edition of Conmebol Libertadores.
Why isn’t Cano playing against Mirassol?
Cano suffered a sprain in his right knee, the same problem he faced in August, and has already started treatment. Fluminense did not set a recovery period.
The team’s top scorer this season with 20 goals, the Argentine center forward has been suffering from injuries since last year. In April, he suffered a strain on the medial collateral ligament in his left knee and was out for almost two months.
After almost two months, Cano returned to play only in the Club World Cup, in June. In August, he suffered a sprain in his right knee and underwent conservative treatment. At the time, he only lost the classic against Flamengo and made a quick recovery.
Fluminense absences for duel with Mirassol
The other medical absences are Paulo Henrique Ganso (in transition) and defender Manoel (undergoing treatment for his left knee). Ignacio is suspended and will also be left out of the match.
Fluminense’s probable lineup
Fábio, Samuel Xavier, Thiago Silva, Freytes and Renê; Martinelli, Hércules and Lucho Acosta; Serna (Keno), Canobbio and John Kennedy. Technical: Luis Zubeldia.
