Hamilton writes text to celebrate 3 years as honorary citizen of Brazil

Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari driver in Formula 1, celebrated this Friday (7) three years since the ceremony, in the Chamber of Deputies, in Brasília.

In a post on Instagram, the seven-time world champion in the category declared himself to the country and said that he remembers the moment of celebration every day.

“Three years ago, I had the honor of receiving Brazilian nationality. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about it. I remember the feeling as if it were yesterday, and it’s a great honor that I take very seriously,” Hamilton wrote on Instagram.

He also highlighted that returning to Brazil is one of the best moments of the season and reaffirmed his affection for the country, thanking the fans for their support. The stage will be held this weekend, at the Autódromo de Interlagos.

“Being here every year is always one of the most special moments for me. Racing with this flag on my helmet means the world to me. Thank you so much for your love and support, I’m going to give everything I have this weekend to you, the fans”, he concluded.

Special helmet for the stage

Lewis will have a special helmet for the stage in São Paulo. He changed the current season’s model, in yellow and red, for one in green and yellow – with the Brazilian flag at the top.

The weekend, who failed to improve his time in the second lap of SQ2, this Friday (7), after a yellow flag caused by his teammate, Charles Leclerc.

He only starts from 11th position in the sprint race, with the start scheduled for 11am on Saturday (8).
