Hundreds of flights canceled: “Shutdown” causes travel problems in the USA

Washington – Hundreds of flights within the USA have been canceled due to the cuts in air traffic ordered by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Due to the ongoing government shutdown, the authority is gradually reducing the number of take-offs and landings at around 40 busy airports in order to reduce the pressure on unpaid air traffic controllers. According to flight data from the FlightAware portal, almost 1,000 connections were canceled nationwide on Friday.
