Robert De Niro was in Rome to be awarded the “Lycaena of the Capitol” by the mayor Roberto Gualtieri.
The great actor during his award made reference to Zohran Mamdani’s victory and attacked Donald Trump. “People are starting to understand how serious the situation is. With the election of Mamdani, the time has come to take back our country. We have to get rid of this terrible president because I, as an American, feel really embarrassed, knowing that I am represented by such a person” he said characteristically.
He then deified Rome by emphasizing that “it is not a city, it is a living work of art. Every road, every stone, every link tells a story. To receive a recognition in this capital, which has offered so much to the world and to culture, to cinema and to beauty, is really touching.”
