Sprint pole for World Championship leader Lando Norris in São Paulo

São Paulo – World Championship leader Lando Norris will start the Formula 1 sprint in São Paulo from pole position on Saturday. The McLaren driver was fastest in qualifying for the short race on Friday, 0.097 seconds ahead of Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. Norris’ McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, who had recently been weak, came 0.185 back to third place. Behind him was the second Mercedes, George Russell (0.252). World champion Max Verstappen (0.337) only finished sixth in the Red Bull.
