November is a perfect time to use materials lying around the house for gardening. This time we will focus on cardboard boxes. Thanks to them, we will prevent development.

Cardboard decomposes over time, which is beneficial for the garden. It begins to feed the soil with additional organic matter. In addition, it retains moisture, so it helps maintain an appropriate microclimate in the ground, even on dry days.

However, cardboard boxes alone are not enough. We also need to cover them with compost or leaves. Therefore, the substrate will not dry out and the flower bed will look natural. Moreover, thanks to the additional layer, we will create insulation that protects against frost.

First, we thoroughly clean the flowerbeds of plant remains and any weeds. Then we place the cardboards on them – we arrange them overlapping. This way, no part of the ground will be uncovered and no unwanted plants will break through it.

In the next step, onto cardboard We pour a thick layer of compost or leaves. It must be 5-10 cm thick. Otherwise, this method will not be effective.
