A tornado caused by an extratropical cyclone hit the municipality of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, in the interior of Paraná, on Friday night (7), and left a scene of destruction. The phenomenon toppled trees, damaged vehicles and roofed dozens of houses.
Residents recorded the moment when strong winds advanced through the city, lifting debris and scattering objects across the streets. The images, shared on social media, show families trying to protect themselves as the storm passed.

Civil Defense confirmed that local and state teams were sent to help with the rescue and provide support to affected families. The Fire Department works to remove debris and survey damage. To date, there is no official record of victims.
Governor Ratinho Júnior (PSD) informed that the security forces are on alert and that the government is monitoring the situation in the affected cities. He expressed solidarity with the affected families and highlighted that the state remains under monitoring due to the weather conditions.
The same low pressure system that formed the tornado should continue to influence the weather in the South and part of the Southeast of the country. According to meteorologists, there is a risk of intense rain, electrical discharges and strong winds in regions of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo in the coming hours.
