Totschnig before the World Climate Conference: “Rendezvous with economic reality”

Before the start of the UN World Climate Conference in Brazil, Climate and Environmental Protection Minister Norbert Totschnig (ÖVP) was in the ZIB2 as a guest. “What signal does the EU send when we go to the world climate conference with a weaker compromise?” asks moderator Margit Laufer. Totschnig sees this as a “breakthrough”. It was agreed at EU level to reduce greenhouse gases by 90 percent by 2040 compared to 1990.
