In the foreground attacks against hospitals and casualties among civilians
The investigation focuses on what Turkish authorities describe as “systematic violence against civilians” in Gaza. The prosecution cited specific incidents dating back to October 2023, including attacks against Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital on October 17, 2023 and damage to Ebli Baptist Hospital on October 21, 2023, resulting in numerous civilian casualties.
Turkish prosecutors also referred to the killing of workers of the World Central Kitchen organization on April 1, 2024, when several employees were beaten during humanitarian operations.
According to reports, the charges stem from allegations that Israeli military operations have systematically targeted civilians and infrastructure in Gaza, blocking humanitarian aid and access to medical care. Prosecutors pointed to statements made through the Sumud Flotilla, which they say tried to deliver aid to Gaza via sea routes.
Recent allegations have led to an official investigation into Netanyahu
The investigation was initiated following complaints submitted to the Istanbul Courts on October 4, 7, 9 and 10, 2025. Turkish authorities conducted the investigation under the jurisdiction of the Istanbul Court and in coordination with Turkey’s Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The prosecutor’s office said the warrants were issued under the authority granted to them under established legal procedures, describing the alleged acts as crimes against humanity that warrant continued investigation.
Turkey has openly criticized Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, which began after Hamas attacked southern Israel in October 2023. The Turkish government has suspended diplomatic and trade relations with Israel over the conflict. Additionally, he has personally attacked Netanyahu several times.
