Young man killed in accident in Acre was a law student, football referee and leaves a daughter

The motorcyclist who died in a serious accident this Saturday morning (8), on Estrada de Porto Acre, in Rio Branco, was identified as Ruan Rhiler Rodrigues Santos, aged 23. He was a law student, referee for the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF/AC) and father of a young girl.

Ruan was driving a red motorcycle when he collided head-on with a black SW4 truck at km 18 of Highway AC-10. According to information from witnesses, the driver of the car had entered the wrong lane and caused the collision. The place where the accident happened is undergoing resurfacing works carried out by the Acre Highway Department (Deracre).

With the impact, Ruan hit his face on the truck’s windshield and fell onto the roof of the vehicle, dying at the scene. Samu teams were called, but were only able to confirm the death.

The young man was well known in Acre sports circles for his work as a football referee. On social media, friends and colleagues mourned his untimely death and paid tribute, highlighting his love for sport and his daughter.

The driver of the truck took a breathalyzer test, which came back negative, and was taken to the Flagrantes Police Station (Defla), where he gave a statement. The case will be investigated by the Civil Police.
