São Paulo coach, Hernán Crespo, gave an interview this Saturday (8) to talk about his stay in charge of the team after the 1-0 defeat to RB Bragantino, at Vila Belmiro.
The coach confirmed that he will remain at the club, but avoided detailing the reasons for the decision.
“I’ll stay. We will stay. We have a lot of work to dowe need to see things that we have to improve. I have a contract and we’re going to try for another year,” he said.
“We have another year together and we will see what will happen, whether we have a basis to follow or not. There will be changes, Let’s believe and have hope. Maybe I won’t be the protagonist, as that takes time, but I arrived here to add value, help and leave the club better than I found it”, added the Argentine.
São Paulo is facing financial difficulties and has limited capacity to invest in reinforcements.
“Am I going to see the big one again? I don’t know, but I can leave that for someone else to take advantage of the situation. We’re here to give the best we can, with the possibilities we have”, added the coach.
After the 2-0 victory over Bahia, Crespo avoided outlining plans for next season when asked about striker Luciano and the club’s future project.
“I don’t know if I will stay, I think so, but I don’t know,” he said.
Tricolor is still fighting for a place in the next Libertadores. With this Saturday’s result (8), the team remains with 45 points, five less than , currently seventh placed and owner of the last place at the moment.
