Manchester City beat Liverpool 3-0 this Sunday (9) at the Etihad Stadium, in a game valid for the 11th round of the Premier League.
City dominated the proceedings from the start and had the chance to open the scoring in the 12th minute, when Haaland wasted a penalty saved by Mamardashvili. The Citizens’ goal came in the 28th minute, when Haaland took advantage of Matheus Nunes’ cross to score his 99th Premier League goal in 108 games.
Still in the first half, in the 47th minute, Nico González doubled for the home team with a shot from outside the box that deflected off Van Dijk. The third goal came in the 17th minute of the second half, in a beautiful individual play by Jérémy Doku, who cut to his right foot and hit the corner.
Manchester City largely dominated the proceedings, with 6 shots on target compared to just 1 for Liverpool. Doku was the highlight of the match, scoring a goal and suffering the penalty missed by Haaland in the first half.
With the victory, City reached 22 points and took second place in the Premier League, four points behind leaders Arsenal. Liverpool remain in eighth place with 18 points, registering their fifth defeat in the championship.
