Former First Lady Michele Bolsonaro (PL) stated, during a PL Mulher event in Londrina (PR), on Saturday (8), that the National Congress “is on its knees in front of the STF (Supreme Federal Court)”. She also returned to defend the name of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) as the “only option” for 2026. The former head of the Executive, however, is ineligible.
“We have seen Congress on its knees in front of the STF, this is sad for us, because, today, the only one who governs is the Judiciary”, stated the former first lady.
“Our deputies pass laws and if they don’t agree, they annul them,” she continued, in the first statement after six other defendants convicted of participating in the attempted coup d’état.
Michelle, who is one of the , also stated that the former president remains the right-wing option for the 2026 presidential race.
“There is no other option for the Presidency of the Republic. The only option for President of the Republic from the right is called Jair Messias Bolsonaro. If it doesn’t happen, there is no democracy, if it doesn’t happen, this is the real blow that the Judiciary is giving to the good people, the Brazilian people”, he declared.
House arrest
During the event, Jair Bolsonaro’s wife also spoke about her husband’s health status, who will turn 100 days old next Tuesday (11). According to Michelle, the former president “has been experiencing very difficult days.”
“My husband underwent his last surgery and he was never able to recover from the hiccup. He reached exhaustion, he has several health problems resulting from this last surgery, because he didn’t have time to recover, peace of mind to recover, a favorable environment”, she stated.
“One abyss was pulling the other. He has lived through very difficult days, having all his rights violated. But this injustice will end, I believe,” he concluded.

After analyzing the appropriate resources, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF, who is the rapporteur of the case, should declare the final judgment for Bolsonaro and other defendants in the coup plot. From that moment on, there will be no longer any possibility of appeal, and the penalties will become definitive. As a result, those convicted must be arrested to begin serving their sentences.
