Neoenergia will invest R$350 million in a solar energy project in the Fernando de Noronha archipelago.
At the Noronha Verde Solar Plant, whose work has already begun, the installation of more than 30,000 solar panels integrated with battery storage systems is planned.
The project should begin operating by the first half of 2027.

The new plant will have a generation capacity equivalent to the consumption of nine thousand homes. Currently, the energy consumed in Fernando de Noronha is produced by Usina Tubarão, which uses fossil fuel.
On another front, the company will also implement the first Floating Solar Photovoltaic Plant in the archipelago, which will be installed in the water mirror of the Xaréu Reservoir.
With an investment of R$10 million, the plant will have the capacity to supply around 30% of the energy consumption of Companhia Pernambucana de Saneamento (Compesa) on the island.
