The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said Saturday that they have been making “emergency donations” to fight hunger in the United States, while the Supreme Court allowed President Donald Trump to temporarily pause full payments from the food stamp program, known as SNAP.
Through their nonprofit, The Archewell Foundation, the couple has donated to several food banks and community organizations, including some focused on the Los Angeles area.
“Across the country, we are working tirelessly to fill this gap and stepping up to meet the need. At The Archewell Foundation, we believe that food is more than sustenance—it is dignity, stability and caring for one another,” the organization said in a statement Saturday.
They also made a plea for others to support efforts to combat hunger.
