Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa was filmed playing a game of basketball with senior American military commanders, including the head of US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, and General Kevin Lambert, leader of the international coalition against the Islamic State.

The video of the relaxed meeting was shared on social media by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, who highlighted the importance of the moment with the caption: “Work hard, play even harder”.

The departure took place shortly before al-Sharaa’s official schedule in the USA, which includes a meeting with President Donald Trump, scheduled for Monday (10). The exact location of the basketball game has not been disclosed.
