This Saturday, the Police broke up an authorized demonstration by the neo-Nazi group in the center of Madrid, and arrested three people, as reported by the government delegation. The march, with about 700 attendees, went along the Paseo del Prado to the Congress so that Europe would be exclusively for Christians. The Police intervention has been received with races, a burned container, motorcycles on the ground, completely burst garbage cans and, in the background, the sound of the agents’ deterrent shots.

The tension has lasted for about half an hour, but it has not been constant. After the first blow by an agent to a protester, the organizers have shouted for those present to retreat and have taken away their flags, banners, and all accessories with symbols of the ultra association. “The demonstration is over,” said Iván, one of its leaders, through the megaphone.

Some young men have approached the police cordon, near the Neptuno roundabout and, although measuring their distance at all times, they have confronted the riot police: “You have a subnormal son, don’t think about it, do it National Police,” they sang. Some of them filled their pockets with cobblestones they picked up from the ground, just in case, and others have left.

The mass of people dressed in black, with paramilitary aesthetics, has been dispersing along the Paseo del Prado in the direction of Atocha station. When it seemed that everything had ended there, the Police sirens sounded again. Lope de Vega Street, a few meters from Congress, has become a mousetrap in a matter of seconds. The group of ultras, upon seeing themselves surrounded, began to flee in the direction of Jesús Street. In their retreat they did not leave a motorcycle standing, they blocked the road with a container and, at the end of the street, they set fire to another.

The Las Letras neighborhood, with narrow and dark streets, has become the scene of a chase for a while. The riot officers ran with their helmets on and shields in their hands without being very clear about where the young people they were looking for were. The terraces of the bars had been filled with shaved, athletic men dressed in black. It could be anyone.

With that moment of confusion, the march that had been called by the National Nucleus, an association that, in its own words, brings together fascists, Nazis, Francoists and Falangists, has concluded. The idea was to parade to commemorate the second anniversary of the protests on Ferraz Street, in front of the PSOE headquarters, as a protest against the Amnesty Law for those convicted of the Catalan secessionist process. This time they have chosen Congress because, in the words of one of its leaders, “if the PP were in the Government the same thing would happen.”
