The young Manchineri indigenous woman, Wuali Castro Salomão Manchinéri, aged 20, suffered a serious accident at work while operating a dredger on the Acre River, near the Bela Vista neighborhood, in Assis Brasil, a municipality located on the border with Peru.

According to preliminary information, during the operation of the equipment, the young woman’s hair got tangled in the machinery, causing her scalp to be completely ripped off. Unable to free herself, Wuali remained attached to the dredger’s structure until people at the scene realized what had happened and called for help.
Rescue was mobilized after a man who witnessed the accident called a friend asking for an ambulance to be sent immediately. The victim received initial care at the scene and was then taken to Brasiléia hospital.
Due to the severity of the injuries and the need for specialized medical care, the patient will be urgently transferred to Rio Branco, where she must remain under intensive monitoring.
Wuali’s health condition is considered delicate, and the circumstances of the accident will be investigated by the competent authorities.
