Algarve promotes itself in Spain with a focus on sustainable tourism and gastronomy

Algarve Tourism will be present, between the 13th and 16th of November, at INTUR – International Inland Tourism Fair, in Valladolid (Spain), the main Iberian event dedicated to inland tourism. The participation, developed in partnership with the Municipality of Loulé, aims to reinforce the promotion of the Algarve destination in the Spanish market, with a special focus on nature tourism and regional gastronomy.

During the three days open to the public, the combined 40 m² space will host daily enogastronomic demonstrations, inviting visitors to discover the flavors and aromas of the Mediterranean Diet, recognized as intangible heritage of humanity, and the cultural and landscape diversity of the Algarve.

Spain continues to be a strategic market for the Algarve

The Spanish market represents one of the main sources of tourists to the region, accounting for around 850,000 overnight stays annually, concentrated mainly in the summer months. The presence of Turismo do Algarve at INTUR 2025 aims to attract visitors throughout the year, promoting the region as a sustainable, authentic destination with genuine experiences.

“We want to showcase the most genuine Algarve – from the mountains to the interior villages and the Costa Vicentina – where preserved nature, the hospitality of the people and the richness of our gastronomy reveal a territory of enormous diversity and beauty. This is the Algarve that reflects the values ​​of authenticity and sustainability, which we want to affirm in the Spanish market, showing a destination that is alive all year round, deeply connected to its roots and committed to the future”, stated André Gomes, president of Turismo do Algarve.

The participation of Turismo do Algarve in INTUR 2025 is part of the Communication and Branding Management Program for Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina, which seeks to position the territory as an authentic, sustainable destination with unique experiences in the Iberian context.

During the event, the promotional campaign “Ao Natural é Melhor” will be officially presented, which celebrates the authenticity of Southwest Alentejo and the Costa Vicentina.

The initiative also includes the exhibition of , a production that, according to Turismo do Algarve, “translates in a sensorial and emotional way the essence of this territory shared between the Algarve and Alentejo – an invitation to disconnect from digital and rediscover the value of the natural, time and authenticity”.
