Petra Vajdová (40) is a Slovak actress, known primarily from theater, television and films, but she also has a rich dubbing career behind her. Although she is one of the most prominent dubbing voices of her generation, she has gone through difficult times in private. The well-known Slovak face had problems with alcohol, because of which she ended up in treatment.
The public first learned about her problems in 2017, when the police caught her behind the wheel with 2.4 percent alcohol in her blood. Immediately after that, Vajdová started anti-alcohol treatment in Kroměříž, Czech Republic. Here she met the married Martin. The truck driver got divorced and a quick wedding followed. In 2019, their son Martinko was born, but even a joint child did not save their relationship and a divorce followed. She was left alone for the boy.
Although the treatment seemed to help her, in August 2024, the police again caught her driving under the influence of alcohol. It happened when she hit a car while parking, which damaged another vehicle. Her son Martinko was also in the car with her at the time. The court imposed on her protective anti-alcohol and anti-drug addiction treatment in an outpatient form and a punishment in the form of a ban on driving a motor vehicle for 7 years.
Despite the dark period, Vajdová returned to work as a dubbing actress and she lent her voice to the main character in the popular Turkish soap opera Zradená, which is broadcast by TV Doma. According to her, the story of the series affected her. “Recently, I’ve been cast in more difficult female characters in dubbing. Maybe because I went through a more difficult period of my life myself“, she said bitter words to the Marquise.
She is most touched by scenes involving children. “Once the story reaches a child, sometimes my voice really breaks. These situations are very difficult to dub. I think that everyone, men and women, who have gone through a breakup, crisis, suspicions or real infidelity can be found in this series. It is always difficult, there is no winner or loser,” Vajdová let herself be heard.
The central theme of the series is infidelity, which the actress experienced firsthand. “I think it all depends on the circumstances. I could no longer forgive infidelity. A woman is capable of this, especially when there is a child involved. It’s almost never just one party’s fault, usually both partners are involved“, she announced surprising words, according to which it seems that she experienced infidelity at the time when her son was born.
