Eat when you feel like sweets. Accelerates metabolism and improves concentration

Dried figs are readily available in stores. You will find them on the shelves with dried fruits and nuts. In this form, they remain suitable for consumption for a long time, unlike fresh counterparts, which spoil just a few days after being picked. Figs are mainly grown in the Mediterranean countries, which is why they are often the only form in which they are grown available in Poland are dried fruits.

The interesting thing is that what we call fig fruit, is actually a flower turned inside out. Real figs are hidden inside and resemble small seeds. The fig fruiting body has a fleshy flower bottom – sweet and juicy.

After drying the fig they become a concentrated source of vitamins and minerals. Dried figs contain vitamins C, PP, B group, as well as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and organic acids. In dried figs, the amount of water is reduced, which causes the sugars to concentrate. Figs in this form are extremely sweet, therefore, they are a great substitute for sweets.

High antioxidant content, vitamins and minerals have a positive effect on health. Regular consumption of dried figs:

However, compared to other sweet snacks, they provide a lot of valuable nutrients, so it is worth replacing regular sweets. 2-4 pieces a day is enoughto satisfy your sweet craving and at the same time benefit from the health properties of dried figs. You can eat them as a snack or add them to muesli, yogurt or oatmeal salad.
