The disappointment of those who went to the Interlagos race track this Sunday (9) was not just due to the quick participation of Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, who left the race after suffering an accident on the first lap.

Fans from other states who went to the race track in the south of São Paulo to watch the São Paulo GP reported long queues to access the event.

Bahian student Laura Luna, 20, came to São Paulo just to watch Formula 1, and said she was very uncomfortable having faced a queue estimated at an hour and a half to access the race space.

“We arrived early to get a good spot and, in the end, it took a long time for us to get in,” she said.

The complaint was the same as that of Uruguayan teacher Mariana Mayo, 43, for the first time in the city. “I didn’t imagine it would be such a big show, but nothing justifies the time I had to wait in line to get in.”

Ariel Aro, 50, an Argentine businessman, was also unhappy with the disorganization at the entrance. “I arrived at 8:30 am and only got in at 10 am. I didn’t expect that in an event like this,” he said, who came to support his fellow countryman Franco Alejandro Colapinto — the driver attracted a series of tourists to the city and finished 15th in this Sunday’s race, won by Lando Norris.

In addition to the queue at the gates, fans also faced long queues to use the bathroom and at food kiosks.

The public also complained about the price of the products. A hot dog cost R$35; a skewer of meat, R$29, the same price as the pot of corn. Right after the end of the test, the wait for a sandwich, which cost R$44, was around 20 minutes.
