Executive director of the Norberto Bobbio Institute, César Mortari Barreira celebrated the fact that a question from the (National High School Examination) was based on a work by the Italian thinker.
The question deals with changes over the centuries in the conception of human rights and mentions an excerpt from the work “The Era of Rights”, one of his best-known works.
“By appearing on Enem, Bobbio reminds us that rights are struggles accumulated over time and that youth have a decisive role in reinvigorating their effectiveness. It is through the realization of rights that we can advance in the construction of a real democracy, connected to the challenges of our own time”, stated Barreira.
Bobbio (1909-2004) was one of the most important political philosophers of the 20th century and became popular for his influential definition
The institute that honors him, based in São Paulo, promotes debates, courses and research on the Italian’s work and other aspects of political science.
