Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), determined this Monday that the government of Rio de Janeiro must send to the Court all autopsy reports carried out after the mega-operation in the Alemão and Penha complexes, which left 121 people dead.
The state administration will also have to present the intelligence reports that supported the action and will have to preserve all images from the police officers’ body cameras.
Moraes is the provisional rapporteur of the ADPF das Favelas, a process in which the STF established rules for police operations in Rio de Janeiro.

Last week, the minister ordered the opening of an investigation to investigate the activities of organized crime groups in Rio de Janeiro. Moraes also ordered the Federal Police (PF) to present a report on the investigation, which had been carried out on a preliminary basis since August.
In April, when the plenary concluded the ADPF das Favelas trial, the ministers ordered the opening of an investigation by the PF, to “investigate concrete signs of crimes with interstate and international repercussions”.
According to the decision, the PF should investigate the “performance of the main violent criminal groups active in the State and their connections with public agents”.
This investigation was launched in August at the STF and has been proceeding confidentially, in the form of a petition, used for preliminary investigations. Last week, Moraes ordered that it be transformed into an investigation and that the PF report the “measures taken so far”.
