As searches for “finance jobs near me” increased by 130% in the last month, researchers in a new study collected finance job postings on the Indeed platform, analyzing salary levels, remote work opportunities and cost of living, to identify the countries that offer the most attractive prospects for finance professionals — and the highest-paying roles in Europe.
Os The Netherlands tops the list as the best country in Europe to work in finance, with a final score of 7.80/10.
Despite only 13.71% of functions being remote, the country has one of the Europe’s strongest financial marketswith 32 vacancies per 100,000 inhabitants.
Salary transparency is the second highest, with almost 30% of advertisements explicitly indicating the amount of remuneration.

Portugal is second. Why?
Portugal occupies second placewith a score of 7.79/10, standing out for its flexible working and low cost of living.
Almost a third of finance roles (32.34%) are remote, offering double the pay of in-person roles — the highest remote working bonus (+100%) in Europe.
Although the median salary is relatively modest (€27,762)the low cost of living in Portugal allows finance professionals to extend their income further.
With more than 120 banks from 25 countries, Luxembourg ranks third (7.77/10). It has the highest concentration of financial jobs in Europe (253 per 100,000 inhabitants) and the highest median salary (€79,896).
Although the high cost of living and limited number of remote roles (8.84%) slightly reduce the overall score, strong demand and high pay make Luxembourg an attractive destination for careers in finance.
Ireland comes in fourth place (7.56/10), offering a solid financial market, with 62.41 jobs per 100,000 inhabitants — the second highest value among all the countries analyzed. The median salary for finance professionals in Ireland is €48,072, around €2,500 below that in Austria (€50,653), which is fourth in this ranking.
“The finance and investment sector is regularly considered one of the most attractive career paths due to its earning potential and constant opportunities for advancement — and competition in the industry is likely to intensify,” Brandon Bovey, senior analyst at BrokerChooser, said in the statement.
Even so, It is a favorable time to build a career in this areaalthough anyone considering it must understand well both the opportunities and the demands involved.
