The full body of the (Superior Court of Sports Justice) judges this Monday (10.Nov.2025) the appeal of striker Bruno Henrique, from Flamengo, accused of sports manipulation. If the conviction is maintained, the player could miss the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, in which the club occupies second place. The analysis is scheduled to begin at 10 am.

UNDERSTAND THE CASE

The complaint alleges that the attacker forced a yellow card during a match against Santos, valid for the 2023 Brasileirão, in Brasília. According to investigations, he had previously informed his brother, Wander Nunes Pinto Júnior, that he would be warned, allowing bets to be placed on the bid. The episode led to the opening of an investigation by the Federal Police and the complaint by the STJD Prosecutor’s Office for violation of sports ethics.

In the sporting sphere, Bruno Henrique was acquitted of the article dealing with direct result manipulation, but condemned for acting contrary to sporting ethics. Flamengo asks for an acquittal or a reduction in the sentence, while the Prosecutor’s Office requests an increase in the punishment.

If the 12-match penalty is maintained, Bruno Henrique’s last game in the Brazilian Championship may have been the 3-2 victory over Santos, on Sunday (Nov 9), when the striker scored the third goal. There are only 6 rounds left in the competition.

The sanction, however, should not extend to international competitions, unless there is a formal request from the CBF to FIFA. Thus, the player remains eligible to compete in the Copa Libertadores final, against Palmeiras, on November 29th.
