“Enemies must be afraid. We are not enemies”, declared the Ukrainian president about his relationship with the USA
The President of Ukraine, (Servant of the People, center), stated that he was not afraid of the president of the United States, (Republican Party), because Ukraine poses no threat to the USA. The statement was made in an interview with the British newspaper published this Sunday (9.nov.2025).
“I’m not afraid of Trump because he is a man elected by the people. We must respect the choice of the people of the USA. I am also a man elected by the people and he needs to respect it. We are not a threat to the USA. On the contrary. I think of the USA as our strategic partners and they will continue to be so for a long time”he declared.
Zelensky stated that his relationship with Trump has always been constructive and professional, not enmity.
“My relationship with Trump is constructive and professional. I understand that everyone is afraid of Trump [..] But we just have to be respectful. You are only afraid of your enemies. We are not enemies of America, so why would we be afraid of them?”he stated.

Zelensky stated that King Charles III of the United Kingdom had a “discreet paper”but importantly, in strengthening the relationship between Trump and the Ukrainian government.
According to the president, the British monarch sent important signals to the American president during a meeting in September, encouraging him to support Ukraine. “His majesty is very sensitive to our people and very supportive,” he stated.
INSUFFICIENT HELP
Zelensky used the interview to reinforce requests for new Patriot air defense systems and more military cooperation from European countries. He said he understood Western leaders’ caution, but argued that support must continue.
“It will only be enough when the war ends. And when Putin understands that it needs to stop”these.
Although Trump has already stated that the US will not become militarily involved in the conflict, France and the United Kingdom have promised to send troops as part of a possible peace agreement.
Zelensky stated that Russia could open new fronts of conflict in Europe, even before ending the war in Ukraine. According to him, the Kremlin is in a situation of stalemate and is trying to compensate for its defeats with provocations in other countries.
“Putin needs an external enemy to unite Russia. Believing he will stop in Ukraine is a mistake”he stated.
