Israel’s parliament calls for death penalty for “terrorists”

Jerusalem – Israel’s parliament has voted in first reading for a bill to introduce the death penalty for convicted “terrorists.” A majority of 39 votes to 16 voted in favor of the project on Monday evening. In order for it to become law, votes in the second and third reading are still necessary. This means that the death penalty could be imposed on a Palestinian who kills an Israeli, but not against an Israeli who kills a Palestinian.
