Brazilian Maria Vilma das Dores Cascalho da Silva, aged 69, died after being attacked on a street in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, last Wednesday, 5th, according to a report from her family.
She was in the country to visit her daughter, Carolina Bizinoto, who is in her last semester of Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires. According to a post made by Carolina on Instagram, Maria Vilma was attacked by an unknown man. She was taken to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries and died the following day.
Wanted by Estadãothe Ministry of Justice and Security of the City of Buenos Aires did not respond.

The young woman opened a fundraiser on Monday, the 10th, to cover the costs of moving her mother’s body to Goiás, where the family lives, but ended the collection this Tuesday, the 11th, after reaching the necessary amount.
However, Carolina said that, in addition to being expensive, the process is extremely bureaucratic. She asked for support in getting in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “Thank you everyone. We now need you to speed up the release of the body”, said the student.
When contacted, Itamaraty stated, in a note sent to the Estadãowhich is following the case and is in contact with local authorities, through the Consulate General of Brazil in Buenos Aires. The ministry also said that it “provides consular assistance to the family of the Brazilian national”.
“Mommy, I swear we’ll make it. I love you. I’ll do everything I can to take you back,” Carolina wrote on social media. Maria Vilma was a public servant at the Goiás Court of Justice (TJ-GO), but was already retired.
