EU finance ministers are likely to abolish duty-free limits for parcels

Brussels – The EU economics and finance ministers will meet in Brussels on Thursday to finalize the abolition of the duty-free limit of 150 euros for packages from third countries. The aim is to stem the flood of packages. However, the revision of the energy taxation directive, which has been negotiated for years, is unlikely to be decided yet. Austria is represented at the Council by Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer (SPÖ).
