A informed the (Supreme Federal Court) that it decided not to indict the sister of the lieutenant colonel, a defendant arrested for the coup plot, for trying to deliver a hidden phone and memory card to the soldier in the prison.
The PF’s expertise concluded that the memory card contained only gospel and arrocha style songs, interspersing praises such as “Deus Proverá” with the hits “Bunda no Paredão” and “Pilantra e Meio”, recorded by the singer.
Dhebora Bezerra de Azevedo had been investigated since January 2025 by the Federal Police. At the end of 2024, she hid a headset, a memory card and a USB cable in a panettone box and tried, illicitly, to send the material to her brother, in Brasília (DF).
In a statement to the PF, Dhebora stated that he decided to hand over the equipment with 55 different songs to his brother after a visit to the prison. In her version, her brother had announced that he had no music to listen to during the time he exercised in prison.
“Before the visit, in the morning, [ela] went to the Imported Fair and purchased a headset and a memory card; THAT he returned home and recorded gospel, forró and national songs on said storage media”, said Dhebora, according to the PF statement.
She said that her brother did not know about the purchase of the equipment and claims that he “was not aware of whether it was allowed to take electronic equipment” to the place where Rodrigo was detained.
In the final report of the investigation, the Federal Police cast doubt on Dhebora’s naivety. The corporation says that she is an agent of the Civil Police of the state of Ceará and highlights that the concealment of the equipment in a panettone box “reveals that the person being investigated was aware of the illicit nature of her conduct”.
The conclusion, however, is that it is a “crime of lesser offensive potential”. Therefore, the PF decided not to indict the soldier’s sister and sent the case to the PGR (Attorney General’s Office) for “examination and other measures deemed relevant”.
Minister Alexandre de Moraes asked the PGR to comment within 15 days on the case.
