Despite strong criticism, the FPÖ stuck to the so-called Dinghofer symposium, which was scheduled for Tuesday evening in parliament. A number of groups such as the Socialist Youth and the Catholic Action protested. The Jewish Austrian Students (JöH) held a counter-“symposium” in front of the House, in which representatives of the Jewish community and writers took part. The liberal National Council President Walter Rosenkranz had categorically ruled out canceling the Dinghofer Symposium event.
