Police closed main access to the event; Protesters tried to enter the Blue Zone without authorization on Tuesday (11.nov)
One on Tuesday night (11.Nov.2025), the 2nd day of the , blocked the exit of people who were accredited to the Blue Zone, where the climate conference negotiation rooms are located. You must have a credential issued by the UN (United Nations) to enter the site. There was confusion between the protesters and security guards, who created a physical barrier to prevent full access to the area.
A group participating in the Global Health and Climate March moved away from the main demonstration and headed towards the entrance to the Blue Zone. The area has restricted access to negotiators, journalists and diplomats. Some of the dissidents were Tapajós indigenous people and the other part were members of the Juntos collective. Many wore T-shirts with PSOL inscriptions. The term “Occupy COP” was used on social media after the incident.
The COP30 Blue Zone is a space administered by the UN, which does not allow public demonstrations without permission. Security around the area, however, is provided by the federal government.
The president (PT) issued a GLO (Guarantee of Law and Order) to allow patrolling by the Armed Forces during COP30. An armored vehicle is parked at the beginning of the roadblocks that give access to the Blue Zone.
