Three women's projects awarded by Eurocidade do Guadiana and EURES Andalucia-Algarve

Eurocidade do Guadiana and the EURES Andalucía-Algarve project distinguished three business initiatives led by women — Azul Soho Market, Salinas del Alemán and Las Andevaleñas — as the best cross-border female entrepreneurship projects, for their contribution to strengthening commercial relations between the Algarve and Andalusia.

Azul Soho Market, a commercial space located in Punta del Moral (Isla Canela), was awarded for its potential as a reference model, replicability and impact in the cross-border area. The project, which brings together companies from the Algarve and Andalusia during the summer, was praised by the jury for its ability to promote Portuguese brands and products in Spanish territory.

Salinas del Alemán, managed by a family and led by women, was recognized for its high level of innovation and ability to adapt to market changes. Specializing in virgin sea salt, fleur de sel and salt flakes, the salt mines recently participated in the Sal-C cross-border project, which promotes the valorization of traditional salt and cooperation between producers from the two regions.

The Las Andevaleñas project was distinguished as the best business idea in the initial phase of development, standing out for its social and sustainable aspect. Dedicated to the production of “fruits with soul”, the company’s mission is to create decent employment for women and transform agricultural surpluses into natural dehydrated fruits, helping to reduce food waste.

“These projects, with their cross-border reach, are boosting commercial exchange between Andalusia and the Algarve from the perspective of female talent”, highlighted Guadiana, the entity promoting the initiative together with EURES Transfronteiriço Andalucía-Algarve.

The awards ceremony will take place on November 19th, at the Municipal Library of Castro Marim, during the Meeting of Women Entrepreneurs of Eurocidade do Guadiana.

EURES Cross-Border Andalusia-Algarve, funded by the European Union, is a project that promotes labor mobility and economic cooperation between Portugal and Spain, with the Andalusian Employment Service and the Institute of Employment and Professional Training (IEFP) as key partners.
