The government of Acre, through the Department of Highways, Waterway and Airport Infrastructure (Deracre), continues to advance work on the Rio Branco Road Arch, a project that aims to reduce heavy vehicle traffic in the center of the capital, ensuring greater fluidity and safety in urban traffic.
The work is concentrated in two main sections. Lot 1, which runs from the Estrada do Quixadá junction to the junction with the AC-10 highway, and Lot 2, which extends from the 6th bridge over the Acre River to the junction with Estrada do Quixadá.

Currently, earthworks, installation of culverts and fencing are being carried out on both lots. These activities prepare the ground for the next stages of paving and signaling the road. The president of Deracre, Sula Ximenes, highlighted that the work is a milestone for urban mobility in the capital.

“We have been closely monitoring progress on the first two lots. It is a large job, involving earthworks, culverts and fencing, but each completed stage begins to change the landscape and prepare the land for paving”, highlighted Sula Ximenes.
The project involves the paving of four sections, totaling 27.78 kilometers, in addition to the construction of the 6th bridge over the Acre River, 326 meters long, currently in the bidding phase.

The initiative is part of the Infrastructure and Sanitation Program of the State of Acre (Proisa) and is financed through an external credit operation with the Financial Fund for Development of the Prata Basin (Fonplata), in addition to a contribution of R$38 million in a parliamentary amendment, totaling an investment of R$105 million.
