In a video posted on social media, she claimed to be alive and lamented the spread of false information. “My name is Maria Eduarda, I’m alive. The internet linked photos of me from a past life that I no longer have and said that I had died. This Japinha person doesn’t exist. I thank the people who were concerned. I’m fine”, he declared.
Last week, the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro had already denied that the supposed “Japinha do CV”, identified in rumors as “Penélope”, had been killed in the operation. According to the corporation, the image shared on social media and in police groups actually showed the body of Ricardo Aquino dos Santos22 years old, born in Bahia, who had two active arrest warrants.
So far, Maria Eduarda has not said whether she intends to take legal action against those responsible for spreading the rumors.
