A delicious snack for St. Andrew's Day. A few minutes in the kitchen and the effect is stunning

Puff pastry with pesto It’s a simple and quick party snack that’s also perfect for dinner, a snack while watching a movie, or during a meeting with friends. It will also be a perfect choice for the upcoming St. Andrew’s Day. The whole thing is exceptionally tender and has a very aromatic filling. Basil and Parmesan create the perfect combination of flavors. You can prepare the snack in just 10 minutes and you can serve it after 20 minutes. It tastes best warm.

To prepare this recipe, you will need:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry,
  • 100 g basil pesto,
  • 50 g grated parmesan cheese,
  • 50 g of butter,
  • 2 cloves of garlic.

Additionally:

  • egg for brushing snacks.

You can serve ready-made snacks solo or prepare a simple yogurt and herbal sauce.

Unroll the puff pastry and cut into eight rectangles.

Melt the butter and cool. It doesn’t have to be completely liquid – it just needs to be very soft. Transfer them to a bowl and add the pressed garlic. Cool. Grease the top of the puff pastry evenly.

Spread a thin layer of basil pesto over the dough, leaving about 1 cm of space on the sides. Sprinkle the rectangles with grated Parmesan cheese.

Roll each rectangle quite tightly into a roll, being careful not to let the filling leak out. Place the finished rolls on an oven tray lined with baking paper.

Beat the egg in a bowl and spread the mixture on top of the puff pastry.

Put the puff pastry with pesto in the oven preheated to 190 degrees Celsius and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the top is nicely golden.

Serve the snack warm, immediately after preparation. Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container and use within 2 days.
